OUR STORY

Shawn Saunders, the owner, has been baking since 1994 and first became interested in sourdough in 1997 when he bought Daniel Leader's book "Bread Alone." Shawn opened his first bakery in 2004, which started his professional baking career. The Sourdough Boulangerie opened in 2014 with a different idea in mind - to make breads using as many locally sourced products as possible and with whole grains.

The Sourdough Boulangerie offers a wide assortment of breads and pastries. There are plenty of vegan options in our breads and we are expanding our pastries to be vegan friendly also. Unfortunately, our bakery doesn't supply any gluten free options because we would have to have a separate facility.

*Monday through Saturday from 11am to 6:30pm*

We will be making pizzas on sourdough crust. We roast all of the vegetables, have a variety of meats, and cheeses including vegan cheese. Smalls pizzas are 12" for $16, Large pizzas are 16" for $28, but there is no limit on how many toppings you get.

We will be making smoked gouda and beer cheese soup, and rotating varies of other soups and chili.

We strive to support local farmers when we source our flour, grains, and produce. Our stone-ground whole wheat comes from Mountain Mama Milling in Monte Vista, CO. Our other wheat flour comes from Bay State Milling in Platteville, CO. We get honey from Lockhart Honey Farms in Colorado Springs. Our carrots and other root vegetables we get from Ahavah Farms in Peyton, CO when available. We also have our own chickens for our eggs, and we also get duck eggs from Home Grown and Happiness which is an urban farm in Colorado Springs.

Currently, we provide products to over 40 wholesale customers throughout Colorado Springs, one in Pueblo, and also one in Kansas. We are thankful for everyone's ongoing support of our company so we can keep providing you amazing products.
